Can we talk about how I thought "just read the error message" was useless advice until a missing semicolon ate 3 hours of my Sunday?

Semicolons are the actual worst, I spent 45 minutes last month hunting one in a 500 line file so I feel you. But honestly the error message thing is still kind of a scam, half the time it just says "unexpected token" and points at a line that's totally fine. It's really just pattern matching after you've seen the same dumb mistake ten times.
