Warning: I used to think you could just eyeball a tool change offset
For years I would just tap the tool off the part and call it good enough. Then I scrapped a $400 titanium part because my Z offset was off by 0.002. Now I always use a 1-2-3 block and an indicator to set it dead on. The extra 90 seconds saves so much headache and material. Has anyone else had a close call like that from skipping a step?

That extra 90 seconds is just wasted time on most jobs.

90 seconds is just enough time to stop and double check your work before hitting send, which could save way more time fixing mistakes later. Patricia might be thinking about jobs that are purely physical, but for anything involving decisions or communication, those short pauses actually cut down on errors. Rushing through everything without little mental resets just makes people need to redo stuff more often.

Honestly, my coffee maker's auto-brew feature saves me about that much time each morning. Means I can stand there staring blankly at the cupboard for a full minute longer before I remember where the mugs are. That's not wasted time, that's essential brain boot-up procedure. So maybe those 90 seconds are for mental prep, not the actual task.
