The setup guy at my shop in Dayton showed me one dumb trick for indicating a vise, and it cut my setup time in half
Last Tuesday I was fighting a Kurt vise on the Bridgeport for like 20 minutes trying to get it dialed in, and this older setup guy walks over and taps the side of the vise with a dead blow while the bolts are just snug. He said "snug one bolt, tap it in, then torque the other one down, the vise pulls itself square." Took me from a 0.005 sweep to dead nuts in about 90 seconds, anyone else got a small shop trick like this they picked up from the old heads?
