Shelled out $350 for a tool presetter, still on the fence about it
Picked up a used Haimer presetter off eBay last month for 350 bucks. Thought it would cut my setup time in half but honestly it's kinda clunky and I still double check with the old dial indicator method. Anyone else drop money on a tool that sounded great on paper but didn't really deliver? Or am I just too stuck in my ways?

gotta sell it before it loses more value, dial indicator never lies.

Give it a couple weeks before you ditch it. I had the same thing with mine, kept reaching for the dial indicator out of habit. What finally sold me was setting up the presetter for repeat jobs, once the numbers matched three times in a row I stopped second guessing. Also check if the spindle has any play in it, used ones often need a light cleaning and re-grease before they read true. If it's still clunky after that, then yeah, list it.
