Learned that the hard way too, I mean ignoring chatter just makes everything worse later. Now I listen for that sound change and bump the speed down a tiny bit right away. Idk why I ever tried to power through it, maybe it's just me but that always wrecked the finish. Definitely saves a ton of time over fixing a messed-up part.

Actually sometimes more speed helps, not less. Depends if it's tool chatter or workpiece vibration though.
