I was dead wrong about coolant mist collectors until last month

I always thought those cheap coolant mist collectors were a waste of shop space. Then I installed a Royal Products mist collector on my Haas VF-3 after my buddy Tim kept pushing me to try it. After 3 weeks my operators stopped coughing and the coolant smell went away almost completely. The filter media cost me like $35 to replace after 2 months of heavy use. Has anyone else had a similar turnaround on something they were skeptical about?

Man, I was the exact same way. Thought those mist collectors were just another upsell for guys with too much money. Then I picked up a used one cheap from a shop closing down. Hooked it up to my old Bridgeport and it was night and day. My nose didn't burn after a long day and the floor stopped being a slick mess. I'm a believer now. It's stupid how long I waited.
