Dropped $180 on a coaxial indicator and it paid for itself on the first job
I was setting up a bore on a horizontal mill and kept chasing my center by sweeping an edge finder, which was eating up almost an hour per part. My foreman finally told me to stop being cheap and grab a coaxial indicator off the tool crib shelf, so I ordered my own for around $180. First hole I used it on, I had the part dialed in under two minutes and hit the tolerance dead on. Honestly wish I had bought one two jobs ago instead of fighting it with a .0005 test indicator. Any of you run a coaxial on small bores or do you still stick with a sweep setup?
