A guy at the shop in Dayton argued against my go-to feed rate for 6061 aluminum.
He showed me his setup running 20% faster with a different coolant mix and the finish was perfect. I've been running my machine too slow for months now. What's your sweet spot for feeds on aluminum with flood coolant?

Ever have one of those days that makes you question everything you know? I felt that way last year when a new hire ran my favorite endmill 30% faster than I ever dared. My whole setup was safe but stupid slow. Now I push it harder with a solid coolant stream and get way better finishes. What tool were you running when you saw his setup?
