Went with a scroll chuck over a collet setup for the lathe and I'm not sure I made the right call
Picked up a used South Bend lathe from a guy in Cleveland back in March and had to decide how to hold small parts. I went with a 3 jaw scroll chuck because it was cheaper and faster to swap parts, but now I'm fighting runout on everything under half an inch. Should've just spent the extra $150 on a 5C collet setup for the repeat jobs. Anyone else regret going the quick and easy route on workholding?
