Window film I put up 4 summers ago still saves me $30 a month on cooling

Spent $60 on that reflective window film from the hardware store and put it on my south-facing windows. Has anyone else noticed their AC running way less after doing something simple like this?

Didn't the energy.gov site say window films can cut cooling costs by like 30%?

Yeah that 30% number is real, I've seen it too. My house gets baked in the afternoon sun and after putting up some decent quality film on the west facing windows my AC actually cycles off sometimes now instead of running nonstop. It's not a miracle fix but man does it make a difference on those brutal summer afternoons.
