Walked through downtown Phoenix after the monsoon last week and every single parking lot was a heat trap
The asphalt was throwing off so much heat at 9pm that I could feel it through my shoes, and if we don't start putting shade structures over these lots it's only going to get worse - has anyone else noticed how bad parking lots cook neighborhoods at night?

Wait, through your shoes? That's insane. Like the asphalt was actually cooking the rubber? I've felt that ground heat radiating up but never thought it could get hot enough to pass through shoe soles.
