Used to drive solo everywhere until my neighbor called me out

Honestly, I used to hop in my truck for every little errand, even if it was just a mile down the road. Then last June my neighbor Judy saw me driving to the grocery store and said 'you know that's like half a mile, right?' She was right. Now I walk or bike for anything under 2 miles and it's cut my weekly gas use by about 8 gallons. Has anyone else had a friend or neighbor call them out on wasteful habits?

Man, that's a solid wake-up call from Judy. I had a similar moment when my buddy Tim caught me idling my car for ten minutes waiting for a train to pass. He was like "just turn it off, you're burning money for no reason." Now I'm way more conscious about not letting the engine run when I'm parked. It's wild how those little things add up without you even realizing it.

Idk, I used to be one of those people who thought idling wasn't a big deal. But hearing stories like this really puts it in perspective, makes me want to actually track my own habits.

Burning money for no reason" got me thinking @rose_hart have you actually calculated how much idling costs in a year?
