Swapped my 90 minute lawn mow for a reel mower and a $40 bill, never going back
Three years back I was burning a full tank of gas every time I mowed my half acre in Boise, and honestly I hated the noise more than the cost. Last spring I found a used reel mower on marketplace for $40, sharpened the blades myself with a file, and now the whole yard takes about 45 minutes with zero gas. My neighbors probably think I'm a weirdo pushing that thing on a Saturday morning, but my back yard clippings go straight into the compost now instead of a plastic bag on the curb. Has anyone else made the switch and figured out a trick for tall grass that doesn't clog the reel?
