Rant: My town's new compost bins cut our trash by half compared to the old drop-off site
We had a community compost drop-off a 15 minute drive away, but after the city gave everyone a green bin for weekly pickup, our household trash went from two bags a week to just one. The easy access made us actually separate food scraps instead of just thinking about it. Has anyone else seen a big drop in waste just from making the green option more convenient?

We use a small countertop bin with compostable bags. It fills up every couple days, so we just dump it in the green bin on pickup day. The key is having that small bin right by the sink where you prep food.

Our apartment building saw a 40% drop in landfill waste after they put compost chutes on every floor.

Wow, that's a huge drop! It really shows how small changes in how things are set up can make a big difference. I mean, if you make the right choice the easy choice, people just do it.
