PSA: That plastic bag ban at my local grocery store in Portland backfired hard
Saw people double bagging with those thick reusable ones they now sell at checkout which probably uses more plastic than the old thin bags did, anyone else notice this at their stores?

Man, this is exactly what happens when people don't think things through. The whole "ban single use plastic" thing sounds good in theory but nobody stopped to ask what people would actually do instead. Now everyone's buying those heavy duty bags that take way more plastic and energy to make, plus they probably end up in the same landfill after a few uses because nobody actually remembers to bring them. It's like how recycling plastic bottles was supposed to help but most of them still just get thrown away or shipped overseas. I swear half these environmental rules just make regular people feel guilty while the companies keep producing waste.
