Neighbor's rain barrel comment made me switch to drip irrigation this June

She pointed out my sprinkler was flooding the sidewalk and wasting about 30 gallons a day, so I swapped to a $45 drip kit from the local hardware store in Portland, and now my tomato beds actually dry out between waterings, has anyone else seen a real drop in their water bill after making that switch?
