My neighbor in Austin flipped my view on solar panels

I always thought residential solar was just for rich folks or eco-zealots, until my neighbor Rick showed me his electric bill from June, it was $8 after net metering. He explained he paid $0 down with a 20 year lease and his monthly payment is still less than what I spend on AC alone here in Austin. I checked my own usage, about 1,400 kWh a month, and now I'm getting quotes next week. Has anyone else gone with a lease instead of buying the panels outright, and did the math actually hold up?
