My 'low flow' shower head uses 3 gallons per minute - I did the math last week

I bought this thing thinking I was saving money and the planet. Turns out the old one from 2005 was actually more efficient. I timed it with a bucket and a stopwatch after my water bill jumped 20 bucks. Anyone else check their actual flow rate and get a nasty surprise?

Thanks. I'll probably end up with one that's either way too expensive or held together with duct tape. No in between with me.
