Just realized my thermostat schedule was costing me extra each month

A friend who works for BC Hydro told me to stop cranking the heat up and down every day and just set it at 18C constant. My December bill dropped by $45 after I actually listened to him for a change. Has anyone else noticed a big difference with steady temps vs scheduling?

Used to be a total thermostat ninja, scheduling all kinds of ups and downs throughout the day lol. Then my buddy who works in HVAC basically said the same thing, just keep it steady. Was skeptical at first but my last bill was $38 less than the same month last year, so consider me converted.

$38 is thirty eight dollars so yeah I guess it matters.
