Just found out 100 companies are behind 71% of global emissions and I feel like I've been lied to
I was reading a report from the Carbon Majors Database last night and it hit me hard. Since 1988, just 100 companies are linked to 71% of the world's industrial greenhouse gas emissions. I've been stressing about my plastic straws and recycling bins while these giant oil and gas companies keep drilling like nothing is happening. It makes me feel like all the stuff we're told to do as regular people is just a drop in the bucket. I get that individual action matters, but the math is so lopsided it's hard not to feel played. Anyone else read this report? How do you stay motivated to keep making changes when the numbers look like this?
