Got yelled at by a neighbor for putting recycling in the wrong bin last Tuesday

I live in Portland and our building got fined $150 because someone tossed a greasy pizza box in with the cardboard. Has anyone else dealt with neighbors getting way too intense about sorting rules?

Oh man, that stinks. Getting yelled at over recycling is the worst, especially when the rules are different in every city. I live in a duplex and my downstairs neighbor once left a nasty note taped to my door because I had a plastic bottle cap on. The cap! Like come on, I'm trying. That $150 fine is brutal too, our building manager threatened us with the same thing after someone put a greasy pizza box in the cardboard bin. I finally just printed out a cheat sheet like @jesse_fisher did and it actually helped a lot, people just need a little reminder sometimes.

I put a note on our bins with photos of what goes where and it totally stopped the yelling.
