Bought a used electric mower off Craigslist and it actually works great

I was always the guy saying electric mowers wouldn't have enough power for my thick Bermuda grass. But after 3 months using this old Kobalt 80v I got for $60, I'm eating my words. Has anyone else been surprised by how well battery yard tools work now?

Good point about the Kobalt 80v, but I think you might be confusing that with the 40v line. The 80v series is actually their high power stuff, the 40v is the lighter duty one. Still, $60 is a steal for that mower. Those older 80v systems had some battery issues but the mower itself was built tough.

Yeah the 80v was a beast until the batteries cooked themselves.

Those older 80v packs had a real problem with heat buildup in the summer... I remember running my trimmer for like 15 minutes and the battery would just shut down completely. The 40v line was actually more reliable for consistent power over time, even if it didn't have the same runtime.
