Appreciation post: I thought the whole 'green concrete' thing was just hype until I saw the specs on a project in Denver last month.

The mix design cut embodied carbon by 40% compared to standard stuff, which convinced me it's a real tool we should be pushing for in local codes, so has anyone else gotten a city or builder to actually specify it?

Didn't my buddy's firm get a green concrete spec passed in Austin last year?

Wait, does green concrete actually do anything or is it just a fancy name? I've heard some of these new rules are more about looking good than real change. Seems like a lot of hassle for something that might not even make a big difference.

Mark's buddy must have some serious pull at city hall. Green concrete sounds fancy but I bet it costs twice as much as the regular stuff. My shop's parking lot could use a repave but I'm not paying extra for concrete that tries to save the planet. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather put that money into new tools.
