Warning: My leaf blower died in the middle of clearing a storm drain on Elm Street

I was halfway through clearing that clogged drain on Elm Street after a downpour when my gas blower just coughed and quit. Turns out I had been running it with the choke half on for the last 20 minutes without realizing it. Has anyone else had a machine die on them at the worst possible moment like that?

Choke half on for 20 minutes" is exactly what my buddy did with his snowblower last winter. He kept cussing at it about why it was running so rough, then realized his mistake when it finally died mid-driveway. Thing needed a new spark plug after that.
