I used to think city subreddits were just for complaining, then I actually used one in Cincinnati
Three years ago I rolled my eyes at people posting in r/cincinnati about potholes and bus routes, figured it was just folks yelling into the void. But back in May I posted about a broken streetlight on Vine St near Findlay Market and a city worker actually replied the next morning with a work order number. Two days later the light was fixed and a neighbor I'd never met walked over to say thanks because her walk to the bus got safer. So what's the deal, is it just Cincinnati that actually reads these, or has anyone else had a city chat thread turn into real action on their block?
