Double stroller vs a cheap umbrella stroller for the subway - no contest
I used a bulky double stroller for about two weeks trying to get my twins through the 34th Street station. What a nightmare. That thing could barely fit through the turnstiles and I got stuck in the gap between the platform and the train twice. Switched to two cheap umbrella strollers I got for $25 each on Facebook Marketplace. Now I just fold them up, hold one in each hand, and walk right through. Way less hassle and my back actually thanks me. Has anyone else ditched the fancy gear for the simple stuff?

Used to be a gear snob about strollers. Thought you needed the fancy padded one with all the cup holders and a sun shade that cost more than my rent. Then I took my nephew's cheap umbrella stroller to Citi Field last summer. Folded it up in two seconds, held it under my arm while I bought a hot dog. Changed my whole view on this stuff. Simpler is usually better.

I mean... it's a stroller, not a life or death decision. Sure the umbrella one works fine for a ball game but try taking that thing on a gravel path or through a windy parking lot and watch it flip over... not saying the fancy ones are worth a mortgage payment but there's a middle ground somewhere.
