Discovered a shortcut for getting around downtown traffic that actually saves me 15 minutes
I used to sit on Main Street for 30 minutes every evening trying to get across town (you know, the usual stop-and-go nightmare). Then last month a Uber driver told me about using the alley behind the old train station near 3rd. It cuts through to the bridge bypass and I swear I get home 15 minutes faster now. It's not even marked as a road on Google Maps or anything. Has anyone else found a random alley or side street in your city that works way better than the main routes?

Dang, that's a solid find. I read somewhere that ride-share drivers know all the best hidden routes because they're always hunting for shortcuts.

I gotta push back on that take about ride-share drivers knowing all the best hidden routes. Most of them just follow whatever Google Maps or Waze tells them, same as everyone else. I've had drivers blindly take me through construction zones and gridlocked side streets that added 15 minutes to my trip. Relying on shortcuts from someone who's been driving for three weeks and doesn't know the area? Not exactly a secret sauce. If anything, experienced taxi drivers or delivery truck guys who run the same routes daily are way more likely to know the real hidden gems. You ever actually asked a ride-share driver for a shortcut and got stuck behind a school bus?
