Debating which is better for city chat: neighborhood Facebook groups or Nextdoor?

I swear every time I check Nextdoor someone's arguing about lost cats or complaining about leaf blowers, but Facebook groups around here actually coordinate block parties and share real-time crime alerts. Which platform do you think actually builds community in the city?

Yeah, you hit the nail on the head about Nextdoor. I moved to a new neighborhood last year and tried both, but Nextdoor's just a nonstop argument fest about noise and parking. Facebook groups in my area post about lost dogs and give away furniture, way more useful for actually connecting with people.

Gotta disagree with you there, @eric_murray26. Honestly, my Nextdoor is actually pretty chill - people post about free firewood and ask for plumber recs way more than they argue about parking.
