Why does nobody talk about how often flex pipes fail

I used to swear by flex pipes for tight chimney offsets, but one cracked mid job on a house in Denver last Tuesday. Water got into the liner and the homeowner's ceiling started dripping within 20 minutes. Had to rip it all out and replace with rigid sections. Has anyone else had flex pipes split on them randomly like that?

drewsullivan I feel that, but my luck ran out fast like my old truck's transmission" - that's rough, but honestly maybe it ain't luck at all. I bet there's some little thing you're missing that's causing the problem to keep coming back, like a bad seal or a clog nobody checks. Most people just look at the obvious part and call it a day.

20 minutes to a dripping ceiling" is insane, I've never seen one fail that fast.
