Switched from wire brushes to poly whips and it felt wrong at first
I been using the same wire brush for 18 years on my route in Albany. Last winter I finally gave in and tried one of those polypropylene whips after a customer complained about scratches on their new insert. Honestly I felt like I was cheating at first, it was so light and quiet. But now I can finish a job in about 40 minutes instead of an hour and my shoulders don't ache after a full day. Any other old heads made the switch and stuck with it?

Tossed my old wire brush in the trash after the first week with the poly whip.

My buddy down in Schenectady had the exact same feeling. He swore by his wire brush for like 15 years and told me he felt like he was "betraying his tools" when he grabbed a poly whip. Then one day he was cleaning a real nasty chimney and the wire brush snagged something and nearly pulled his arm out of its socket. @reesemoore you got me to try one too and now my cat actually stays in the room while I work. My friend finally switched after that and now he wont touch his old brush either. He said it felt weird at first but after a week he couldnt believe he waited so long.

Tried one of those poly whips last month and my cat finally stopped hiding when I pull out the brush.
