Switched from wire brushes to poly brushes and never going back

I spent 8 years using standard wire chimney brushes on every job. Last month I finally tried a poly brush on a heavy creosote buildup in an old house near downtown. The difference was night and day. Wire brushes kept leaving scratches on the flue tiles and took twice as long on soot. The poly brush grabbed everything on the first pass and cleaned up way faster. Anybody else have better luck with one brush material over the other?

I was totally team wire brush until I tried a poly brush on a old flue last fall and it blew my mind how much easier it was. Now I'm a convert too, the scratches alone were reason enough to switch.

Scratches alone were reason enough to switch" - exactly, my last wire job left those marks and poly cleaned it all up in one pass.
