Stop using shop vacs on Class A flues, you're melting the hose

Ran a job near Scranton last Tuesday where a guy was trying to clear a creosote glaze with a wet vac. That hose started kinking and softening within 10 minutes. A Class A chimney can hit 200 degrees near the cap even after cooling, and PVC just can't take that. Why are we still pretending a general purpose vacuum is the same as a proper ash vac rated for the heat?

Man, seen that exact meltdown last month. That smell never leaves you.
