Hitting 500 sweeps finally changed my mind on log sets

I used to tell every customer their prefab log set was junk if it had any soot build up. Last month I did my 500th sweep as my own business and that number made me stop and think. Most of those units were fine, just needed a good brushing and the damper adjusted a few times. I spent way too long treating every install like it was a fire hazard instead of just doing the job and moving on. Anyone else hit a milestone that flipped how you talk to homeowners about fireplaces?
