Walk-in freezer door vs. my prep list, guess which one won tonight

Had to choose between letting the birthday cake I was frosting set up properly or dragging the whole rack into the 38 degree walk-in to beat the 7pm rush, so I picked the freezer and now my buttercream looks like a Jackson Pollock painting and my sous chef won't stop laughing at me, anyone else ever gamble on a cooling shortcut and immediately regret it?
