That Saturday brunch service where everything just clicked

Last weekend we had a brutal 80 cover brunch with only two of us on the line. Somehow the ticket printer never jammed, the hollandaise didn't break, and I didn't drop a single plate. It was like the kitchen gods decided to give me a break for once. Has anyone else had a shift where your whole station just flowed perfectly?

You mentioned the ticket printer didn't jam which is basically a miracle in itself. How long have you been running that particular printer setup? I swear those things have a sixth sense for knowing exactly when to crap out on you.

Didn’t I read somewhere that these thermal printers are actually built to run for years if you keep them clean? I’ve had mine going for about three years now without a single jam, maybe I just got lucky. Still, I keep a backup ready because I know it’s only a matter of time before it acts up.
