Absolutely, @the_pat, that mountain of veggies is a right of passage. I once bought a giant bag of spinach with big plans, only to find a sad, wet mess at the bottom of the fridge a week later. The guilt is real when you have to throw it all out. Now I only buy greens in small amounts, no matter how good the bulk deal seems. It's a hard lesson but you only need to learn it once.
