The dollar menu ain't what it used to be
I stopped at a McDonald's near my old office last week and ordered a McDouble like I did back in 2010, but it cost me $3.49 now. That sandwich used to be a buck even and it felt like a real win for my wallet back then. Anybody else notice their go-to cheap meal jumped way over the $10 line without warning?

Oh PLEASE. You're acting like McDonald's was some sacred institution of cheap food. McDoubles were basically frozen patties on a stale bun. I remember those dollar menu days and honestly the quality was questionable even back then. Maybe spend that $3.49 at a local pizza place instead and get a real meal.

Man I used to ROLL my eyes at people complaining about McDonald's prices but you actually make a good point. The dollar menu quality was ALWAYS sketchy, I just didn't want to admit it.

and honestly @parkerp80 you hit on something real there. I read somewhere that McDonald's started doing this thing during the pandemic where they quietly raised prices on stuff like the McDouble because they were losing money on the dollar menu for years. So like yeah the sandwiches were never gourmet but the whole point was it was a cheap option when you didn't have much. now it's just another overpriced fast food item that doesn't even feel like a deal anymore. ruby450 i get your point about local pizza but sometimes you just want that specific mcdonald's taste yknow lol
