Rant: Everyone raves about Taco Bell's crunchwrap but it's a ripoff

Used to grab one every Friday after a job site in Bakersfield, but when I added up the cost for something that's half lettuce and a flimsy shell, I realized I was paying $5 for air. Switched to the bean burrito instead - it's $2, actually fills me up, and doesn't fall apart on me. Am I the only one who thinks the crunchwrap is overhyped?

Count me in with the bean burrito crowd. Nothing worse than paying for something that basically crumbles in your hands like a bad relationship.

Saw a food science breakdown online that said the crunchwrap's design actually makes it worse because the toasting creates steam pockets that soften the shell instead of keeping it crispy. The numbers dont lie - youre paying premium for a gimmick that fails half the time. Bean burrito is the real workhorse, always consistent and actually stays together. Must be nice for Taco Bell to charge extra for something that disintegrates in your lap after two bites. Every time I see someone ordering a crunchwrap I want to warn them but they never listen.

@taylor_young nailed it with that food science breakdown, the steam pockets ruin the whole deal. I switched to the bean burrito too and it actually stays together long enough to finish eating. Five bucks for a shell that gives up after two bites is just bad math.
