Found a trick to make Taco Bell's bean burrito taste way better for 50 cents more
So I'm always trying to stretch my lunch money at the Taco Bell near my job in Phoenix. The bean burrito is already like $2 and some change, but I got tired of it being kinda dry and plain. Last week I asked them to add red sauce on the inside and grill it, no extra charge for those. Then I added a side of their creamy jalapeno sauce for 50 cents. Drizzled that on top after I opened it up. It totally changed the whole thing, made it taste like a fancy burrito from a restaurant. I've done it three times now and it's consistently good. Anyone else got a cheap add-on that upgrades a basic menu item?

Wait, you can actually get them to grill it for free? I always thought that was some secret menu thing that cost extra... I've been eating those bean burritos for years and never even thought to ask. Gonna have to try this creamy jalapeno thing too, sounds way better than the hot sauce packets I usually drown mine in.

You said "I always thought that was some secret menu thing that cost extra" - it's actually not a secret menu thing at all. If you just ask them to grill it at the register, they'll do it for free every time. I've done it at three different Taco Bells in Phoenix and nobody has ever charged me extra. The creamy jalapeno sauce is worth the 50 cents though, for sure. But be careful asking for both red sauce inside AND grilled, sometimes they forget the red sauce if you grill it.
