Dollar menu creep at McDonald's is getting out of hand near me
I stopped by the McDonald's on Broadway in Denver last night, craving a McDouble like old times. But it was $3.19 by itself, and I remember paying like a buck fifty for one just a few years ago. You used to be able to get two McDoubles and a small fry for under five bucks easy, now that's like a seven dollar meal. It's not even a deal anymore, it's just regular food prices at this point. Is anyone else seeing their local dollar or value menu basically disappear or get way more expensive?

Oh wow, I actually have to jump in here because the McDouble hasn't been on the dollar menu since like 2018 (they replaced it with the McChicken for a hot minute). You're totally right though, the whole "value menu" concept has basically evaporated. Last time I checked, the McDouble near me was $2.79 but they had it in a "2 for $3.50" deal if you got two, which is still a far cry from the old days. I swear they just rotate what items are "on sale" so you think you're getting a deal, but really you're just paying normal fast food prices now.

Are those "deals" actually cheaper than just ordering regular menu items though?
