Burger King drive-thru handed me a bag with just 3 fries inside last Tuesday

I was starving after a 10 hour shift and when I got home I opened the bag to find the burger was there but maybe 3 fries rattling in the bottom of the container, so I called them and they said come back for a free fry refill but that's a 20 minute round trip, has anyone else just given up on fast food portions and started hitting up the dollar menu instead?

Man that's brutal, I would have been so ticked off after a ten hour shift too. You worked all day and just wanted to eat, not run back across town for some fries that should have been there in the first place. It feels like they're just daring you to complain at that point, like here's three fries, come prove it. I've about given up on the regular menu too lately, the prices keep going up and the portions keep getting smaller. Might as well grab a couple things off the value menu and make your own combo at this rate.

Man my buddy waited 45 minutes for a cold burger once. I feel your pain.

That's rough, but it's part of a bigger thing I've noticed everywhere lately. It's like the whole "service" part of customer service is gone and replaced with a shrug and a "sorry, we're short staffed." I stopped by the grocery store deli last week and they acted like slicing a half pound of turkey was a personal insult. You get the same thing at the pharmacy, at the gas station, even at the post office. Everything feels like it's running on a skeleton crew and you're the one who has to do the extra work to make it right. Your three fries are just a tiny example of a whole system that's stopped caring about the details.
