Switched to store brand canned tomatoes for my spaghetti sauce and now I'm suspicious

I used to buy the name brand crushed tomatoes for my sauce, but last month I grabbed the store brand from my local Kroger to save 80 cents. After making the same recipe three times with the cheap ones, the sauce actually tastes thinner and less rich than before. Has anyone else noticed a real difference switching brands like that, or is it just me?

Woah, 80 cents? I can't believe they'd change the recipe that much for just 80 cents. I bet they add more water or something to cut costs.
