Shoutout to the property manager who fixed my leaky faucet after I gave up

My kitchen faucet started dripping about 2 weeks ago, real slow at first but then it got worse. I tried tightening it myself with a wrench but just made the handle crooked and now it squeaks. Finally called the apartment office and they sent a plumber who fixed it in 10 minutes with a $6 part. Has anyone else spent way too long trying to fix something simple before just asking for help?

The crooked handle part is way too relatable. I tried to fix a running toilet once and ended up flooding the bathroom so bad my downstairs neighbor banged on the ceiling. Should've just called someone after the first ten minutes of my life.

Nope, that's a myth right there. A simple leaky faucet can turn into a busted pipe real quick if you don't know what you're doing. Some repairs are easy, sure, but most of them are just waiting to ruin your weekend and your security deposit. Ever tried swapping a garbage disposal without killing the breaker first? That's a fun story for the ER.

I read once that most home repairs are actually pretty easy once you get the right part.
