Rant: That stat about plastic recycling rates finally got to me after a messy curbside pickup

I read on a waste management site last week that only like 9% of plastic actually gets recycled, even when you sort it right. I've been rinsing and separating my plastics for years in the kitchen, finding out that most of it still goes to a landfill hit me harder than I expected. How do you folks handle knowing your effort at home might not even matter in the end?

Totally agree, that 9% number is brutal. Feels like the whole system is set up to make us feel better about tossing plastic without actually fixing the problem.

And that's the thing that really gets me. They push all this recycling guilt on us regular folks, but the real problem is the companies making all this single-use stuff in the first place. Feels like we're just being played for suckers so they can keep churning out plastic like there's no tomorrow.

Join the party @felix147, it's all just blame shifting so they can keep profiting.
