Just realized I've been holding my soldering iron wrong for 10 years
I was fixing a broken headphone jack on my laptop last night and watched a random YouTube video where the guy rested his hand on the table instead of holding the iron up in the air like I always do. Tried it and my joints came out clean in one try instead of the usual four or five attempts. Anyone else learn a basic technique way later than they should have?

Three years before I learned you can tape the tip for better heat transfer.

Same with soldering irons, total game changer once you figure that out.
