I thought the $40 glass screen protector at the Verizon store in Tulsa was a scam until I watched my phone survive 3 drops on tile

For 2 years I bought the $8 3 pack off Amazon and replaced one every few weeks, but this one has outlasted all of them. Am I just lucky or has anyone else had a cheap one actually hold up?
