Am I the only one who found out bananas are technically berries?
I was reading a random food science blog last night, and it said bananas are classified as berries but strawberries aren't. That blew my mind because I always thought a berry had to be small and round, you know? Has anyone else stumbled on a food fact that completely messed with their head?

Stumbled on a similar one with cashews. Read somewhere they're not actually nuts either, they're seeds that grow outside a weird fruit called a cashew apple. Makes total sense if you think about it but still feels wrong when you're just snacking on a handful of them.

Had a friend call me up at like 11pm one night yelling about how peanuts aren't actually nuts. She was making peanut butter cookies and went down some Google rabbit hole. Turns out peanuts are legumes, same family as beans and lentils. She said it ruined her whole baking vibe because she kept looking at the jar and thinking "this is just bean butter now." I still give her crap about it every time we make sandwiches.
