The diner cook in Boise who told me cold cereal counts as soup because milk is a broth
Honestly I was sitting at a counter in Boise two Saturdays ago eating a bowl of Cheerios for dinner and feeling weird about it. The cook leaned over and said milk is just a cold broth so technically my bowl was a soup, and he meant it as a compliment. I laughed it off but then I couldn't stop thinking about it all week. He said the only real line is whether you'd want a spoon or a fork, which is such a simple way to look at it that I wrote it on a napkin. Ngl I've been calling every bowl of cereal a soup since then just to mess with people at work. Does anyone else have a rule like that, like a test you use to decide what counts?
