Cold gazpacho in July made me pick sides on the soup debate

Cold gazpacho in July made me pick sides on the soup debate. Last weekend at my cousin's cookout in Phoenix, she served gazpacho as a 'starter' and my uncle called it a smoothie. I got stuck defending it as soup because it's in a bowl and has broth, even if it's cold. But then I thought about cereal with milk, which is also cold and in a bowl, so I had to admit the line is total nonsense. I picked cereal as not soup because it's a breakfast thing, but gazpacho is clearly soup to me. My cousin laughed and said I was just being inconsistent, and honestly she was right. So where do you all draw the line when something is cold but savory, like a chilled cucumber soup? Has anyone else hit a wall trying to explain this to family without sounding like a hypocrite?

Man, cold soup is such a weird hill to die on but here we are lol. I think the real test is if you'd be weirded out eating it for breakfast, like gazpacho at 8am sounds gross but cereal at 8am is normal, so that's my line. Chilled cucumber soup is definitely soup though, because it's savory and you'd serve it with a spoon and probably some bread on the side. The cereal thing is just milk with crunchy bits, different vibe entirely even if the bowl says otherwise.
