Used to think power stretchers were overkill until last week

I've been installing carpet for about 6 years and always just used a knee kicker for everything. Thought power stretchers were only for big commercial jobs. Then I did a 12x15 living room in a old house on Elm Street and got a wrinkle near the door that I couldn't fix no matter how hard I kicked. My buddy Tom loaned me his power stretcher and it flattened that thing in like 2 minutes. Never going back. Has anyone else fought against using one for too long?
